Growing Career Opportunities!
The U.S. Department of Labor expects the
employment of cosmetologists to grow by 10% from
2014 to 2024. This is 42% more than the national
average for all occupations. Increased demand for
cosmetologists, hairdressers and barbers will be a
result of the increasing population. In general, the
demand for more advanced hair and makeup
treatments has also grown over the past few years
and is expected to continue to do so. More trained
cosmetologists will be needed to meet that need.
"Overall job opportunities are expected to be good. A
large number of job openings will stem from the need
to replace workers who transfer to other occupations,
retire, or leave the occupation for other reasons."
